Hello-w new arrivals
Hello to all my new LJ friends. One of you is my hero. You'll know who it is soon enough.

Anyways, I went to to aquarium for the first time in a long time. Long time. Last time I went we had gelato for johanna's birthday. This time, we had gelato for CAROLINE's birthday. There's this place on washington, this gelato place. The people there are amazing. They are so nice, and all thier prices are rounded to the dollar, instead of ninty-nine cents. They assume that people are more intelligent then that. I love it.

But yeah, I was on fire. Just like I usually am. Last two times I'd been there, I was really out of it. I spilled stuff. they called me noah. I got the punishment shirt. I did execute a secret agent mission to buy Johanna's gelato though. That was sucsess. But otherwise, I got headaches, knocked over barrels of water, and used the mop a lot.

So people. People in the world. There are some very nice people in the world. Pizza maker guys from pizza world giving you 30% off for being in a play? WAY TOO COOL. Guys named zach flaming people you hate? Way too cool. People talk about random acts of kindness. But no one ever talkes about random acts of UN-kindness. Like glueing quarters to the ground and watching people try in vein to pick them up. Or giving misinformation to a person who asks for directions, then knowing that they will become hopelessly lost and knowing that thier day would be ruined. Is there a point? What can come of random acts of unkindness other than people being even more unhappy then they already are? Incredible amounts of 3vil. Why would a person do something like that? I don't know, why would a person commit a random act of kindness? Neither of them make sence. Only one thing can come of them. Self-gradification.

And the little things in life that make your day better or worse. One of the worst feelings is when you pour yourself cerial, then you go and pick up the milk, and there's only a tiny bit in the bottom. It maeks you want to pike somone.

Also, people who get all angry about video game violence. Am I a violent person because of video games? No. Is it causing me mental problems? is having the violent images in my mind going to scar me for life? I doubt it. No more than watching the matrix. Seriously, I know this girl, she was all "Saw is the most amazing movie ever" then she started ragging on video games and how horrible they all are because they are all violent, and the reason she could come up with for why video game violence is bad is that the violent images are going to scar you for life. jeesus. Someone give me a gun.

I know so many people that are "My kids will never play video games!!!!" All I have to say is: forbidden fruit. They'll probably end up playing them when they move away. There's nothing wrong with video games aside from that they are a serious waste of time. But so is TV and movies and reading books and art and anything that's not just surviving or reproducing. As we've all learned from star trek, fun is not logical. good old vulcans.

And that concludes my angry violent rant. Interpreit as you will.

I found this rather amusing. I have to agree that people like that girl just always me give the pleasure to point out how their ideas do not make sense. When I usually hear crap like what that girl had said I'd usually just point out that their rather idiotic and leave them to ponder it on their own because eventually they'll have to get what I meant by it right? But seriously forbidden fruit is right. I myself am not a total gamer but I'll go stir crazy if I don't push the buttons of the controller once in a while. I think a child could be more scarred if he/she isn't introduced to a little video game violence everyonce in a while. It's not the games that give the ideas to kids to pick up guns and shoot people. Its just kids pick up guns and shoot people simple as that. Ok I'm gone commenting for too long.

I love how your entry went from happy gelato and pizza event to slowly evil doings to anger. The transition amused me.

I completely agree on the video games thing. Fictional violence is okay. In the real world, there is violence. It cannot be ignored for the sake of "protecting the children" or whatever. They'll find out soon enough that the world is not a happy little Disney movie with a happy ending. *i hate disney for disney-fying everything of value. First it was the Brothers Grimm, then it was Hans Christian Anderson, the Victor Hugo's "La Bossu de Notre Dame" (how dare they?!)*

STOP!!! STOP STOP STOPPPPPPP!!! STOP R0XX0RING MY B0XX0RZ SO MUCH!! XD

Every entry you make is completely and utterly.. Perfect. *Bows* XD

There was an article in my paper the other day about video game violence. Because i live in michigan our WONDERFULL (not) governer grandholm like banned M games from being sold to people under 17..

Ok so.. What makes a game being rated M?? Hmmm.. Possibly simulated real life violence, death, graphical death, Swearing, Toilet humor, etc. Well.. Isn't that what a bunch of other games are too? Just not with humans?? Now take harvest moon for example.. If you get your hoe out and go in the chicken coop.... ...wait nm.. That's violence twords animals. Noone cares about that. @_@
PETA: AAAAAHHHHHHH *STABS CAIT WITH A VEGETARIAN CHEESEBURGER*
But seriously.. Like in random games.. that i probably have never played.. Well zelda might kinda be like it but whatever *shrug* You take your gun/sword/fist/spoon and just kill the heck out of aliens/'bad' people/rabid monkeys/misshapen squirrles/jousting peeps/etc. Wouldnt that be considered violence too? Maybe kids will learn to take all their violence out by pounding their cat with a spoon if you ban "M" games.

I have no idea if you've ever played it.. but a 10 years ago they gave away free copies of Chex Quest in the Chex cereal. Now Chex quest is the EXACT same thing as Doom.. And chex quest (i suppose) appeals to little kids. When you take your gun and shoot the monsters, green 'guts' (or if your using a doom/chex mod thing, Red guts) come out and splatter.. And in the bottom of the screen.. your little guy is covered in green slime/blood whenever he's about to die... So our lesson is here.. As long as a video game contains violence of ANY SORT... some IMMATURE little kid will expel his anger on the closest thing to him. Be it a teacher... peer.. or bunny.

I feel this going into a full fledged rant so im gunna spare you the details and post them in my journal XD!!!

I think video games (also see music, violent television, etc.) is just an excuse for people who either A) can't be a parent, B) didn't know how to parent, or C) didn't want to parent. When I was a little kid I played Doom (which was the most violent thing there was at the time) and never had the urge to go to my school and shoot the place up. I wasn't raised without rules, but my dad never saw fit to try to shelter me from silly things that go on every day in the real world. Looking back, I am rather thankful.

What amazes me is how much of an effort politicans are going through now to try to enforce the rating system and make sure these "bad" video games don't fall into the hands of children. News flash - there will always be some parent that doesn't buy into your BS. Just because you didn't get little Johnny GTA 3 doesn't mean that his friend Timmy with parents who have rational thought didn't get a copy. Kids, much like people in general, if they see something they want, they will figure out a way.

Haha, I found this amusing as well. Gelato sounds fun though, I'm glad you had a good time! Yeah, video games suck..my brother is obsessed, he is only 9 years old and about to fail 3rd grades due to video games. Sad, huh? I wish they were less addicting, arghh! Interesting entry, I liked it!

I agree about the video game thing. Half of the violent things done in video games you can't do in real life anyway. Silly goobers.
